Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Dental Council of India that has been renamed as National Dental Commission(NDC) on Saturday at New Delhi.
Dr. Dibyendu Majumdar, Chairman DCI, Dr. Manik Saha Chief Minister Tripura, Apoorva Chandra Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Vivek Kumar, Executive Committee Member DCI and President Jharkhand State Dental Council besides others were present duri g this occasion.
The Health Minister also inaugurated the National Dental Register (NDR), a dynamic dynamic database of all dentists across India. This woukd help capture data of dentists and also hell provide Unique Identification (DCI ID) to all dentists, informed
Dr. Vivek Kumar, Executive Committee Member DCI informed. He said dentists practicing in India after verification from the respective State Dental Council, which will overcome the challenges related to interstate movement of dentists, duplicate registration across the state, complex renewal process etc. This will help in improving dental care delivery across the country.
Dr Vivek said,the newly constructed building is located in the heart of New Delhi and is well connected to public transport facilities including metro and bus services. The constructed building has a total of 8 floors which include 2 basements and a ground floor. The building has been given 3 star rating and is equipped with solar energy system as mentioned Dr. Vivek.
Former Chairman DCI Dr Anil Kohli and Dr RK Bali, former Vice Chairman DCI Dr Bharat Shetty, Vice President DCI Dr S Reddy, EC members Dr Vivek Kumar besides DCI members and employees were also present.
