A youth in the capital city died of alleged drug overdose on Monday. He was identified as Deepak Sahu of Delta Chhak under the Khandagiri police station.
As per reports, Deepak had gone out with some friends in the morning. But he was brought back by two of his friends in an unconscious state in the afternoon. They told Deepak’s parents that he had consumed an overdose of brown sugar.
Parents rushed him to the Capital Hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.
Being informed, police reached the hospital and initiated a probe in connection with the death.
Parents alleged that Deepak was murdered by miscreants who made him take an overdose of drug for some reasons. A complaint has been filed at the Khandagiri police station by his mother.
“They have killed my son. His friends who had taken him have killed him over money,” alleged Deepak’s mother.
Police were waiting for the postmortem report for ascertaining the cause of death.
