The 10th Ayurveda Day main event is scheduled to be held at the premier All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, on 23rd September 2025. The Hon'ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge),’ Ministry of Ayush and Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, made this announcement during his visit to the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Mount Abu, Rajasthan, today. This is the first time the annual celebration to be held on a fixed date and also the first time to be hosted by AIIA, Goa,marking the state's growing stature as a global wellness destination. As one of the Ministry of Ayush's state-of-the-art institutions, AIIA Goa stands as a symbol of India's commitment to integrative and globally relevant healthcare.
The announcement was made by the Hon'ble Minister while addressing the Conference of Senior Doctors, wherein he also emphasised that this year's theme, “Ayurveda for People & Planet,” reflects the Government's commitment to positioning Ayurveda as a sustainable global healthcare solution, benefiting both human health and the environment. The Union Minister also mentioned, “Goa provides the perfect global stage for Ayurveda Day. With its international outlook and deep roots in wellness, Goa will amplify this year's theme-'Ayurveda for People & Planet'. We are not just celebrating a tradition; we are taking Ayurveda to the world as a sustainable solution for modern healthcare challenges.”
Notably,’ this year's observance is historic on two counts: it will be the first Ayurveda Day celebrated on a fixed date-23rd September-moving away from the earlier practice of linking it to Dhanvantari Jayanti, and it will showcase Ayurveda on the international stage from Goa, one of India's most cosmopolitan states. The Ministry of Ayush has planned nationwide activities across all states and union territories, alongside global events in partnership with Indian missions abroad, international universities, and wellness organisations. As witnessed last year with celebrations in over 150 countries, this year's observance is expected to reach an even wider international audience, reaffirming Ayurveda's position as a truly global health movement.
