Khazaen economic city showcases investment potential

In a move aimed at strengthening economic ties and attracting foreign direct investment, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in India hosted a high-level investment promotion event in New Delhi, highlighting the strategic opportunities within Khazaen Economic City—Oman’s newest integrated economic and logistics hub.

The event gathered senior government officials, business leaders and industry representatives from both Oman and India. It served as a platform to showcase Khazaen’s value proposition as a modern economic gateway designed to support regional and global trade. “Oman welcomes businesses and investors from around the world to explore the wide range of opportunities the country offers Issa Al Shibani, Ambassador of Oman to India, told The Pioneer.

“We are ready to facilitate partnerships and even organize dedicated trade missions, so potential investors can witness firsthand the developments and potential on the ground.” Discussing the significance of the event, Ambassador Alshibani emphasized its role in promoting investor awareness.

“This event is crucial in terms of educating businesses on how far Oman has come in enhancing its investment climate. We’re sharing updates on regulatory reforms, improved access to financing, and the various incentives now being offered by the government. It’s about building trust and helping businesses understand the real opportunities available in Oman.” Responding to questions about the accessibility of the Omani market for Indian businesses and professionals, the ambassador noted that Oman is actively working to ease entry processes.

“We are streamlining business procedures, offering visa facilitation, and encouraging joint ventures. The environment is increasingly favorable for Indian companies and talent to engage with Oman’s growing economy.”

Strategically located near the capital city of Muscat, Khazaen Economic City is poised to become a vital industrial and logistics hub. The project offers cutting-edge infrastructure and a wide array of investment incentives. The New Delhi event particularly spotlighted investment opportunities in pharmaceuticals, food processing, light manufacturing, and logistics, sectors where Khazaen offers significant comparative advantages. Developed through a public-private partnership model, Khazaen provides a flexible and investor-friendly environment. Its location gives investors seamless access to key markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia — positioning the city as a hub for exports and re-exports. This investment forum was also held in the context of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Oman and India, a milestone that reflects a longstanding partnership rooted in shared maritime history, cultural ties, and economic cooperation.

As Oman continues to implement its Vision 2040 economic diversification strategy, initiatives like this event in New Delhi reflect the Sultanate’s proactive efforts to strengthen international partnerships and foster sustainable, long-term growth.
