Chief Minister Rekha has said that no delay or laxity in the execution of development projects in the capital would be tolerated, and that all works must be completed strictly in line with a uniform Standard Operating Procedure.
She directed all departmental officers to prepare a progress report of pending works within a week and upload it on the Chief Minister’s e-portal. After a review meeting with MP, MLAs and Councillors of the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, the chief minister appointed Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa as the Minister-in-Charge for the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
The purpose of this move is to streamline governance and addressing local concerns. She further informed that in nearly every Assembly constituency, funds ranging from `10 to `16 crore have been allocated for the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) and that henceforth all works will be processed through the e-file system. During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed that basic civic issues such as water supply, sewerage, drains, lanes, roads and parks must be resolved without delay.
Highlighting the importance of coordination between the MP, MLAs and Councillors, she said that no work should be overlooked.
She assured that no proposal recommended by elected representatives would be blocked and that the Government would prioritise every essential project. The Chief Minister held detailed discussions on development projects and issues concerning the public, issuing clear directions to both officials and elected representatives.
Earlier, while taking a review meeting on Chandani Chowk Lok Sabha constituency, the Chief Minister underlined the importance of better coordination between the Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police, Delhi Jal Board, and other agencies to devise effective solutions for road management and excavation works for water pipelines.
She also highlighted the shortage of urinals, particularly women-friendly pink urinals, in Old Delhi markets and instructed officials to prepare plans for their installation at the earliest. The chief minister had further directed that all files relating to projects under the Chief Minister’s Development Fund (CMDF) currently awaiting approval should be prioritised, sanctioned without delay, and executed within the stipulated timeframe.
She called upon MLAs and councillors to prepare and submit proposals based on their constituencies’ needs so that work could be sanctioned and implemented expeditiously.
