In a move aimed at ensuring the smooth and hassle-free organisation of upcoming religious festivities, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday announced the formation of high-level committees for Ramlila and Durga Puja. The committees, to be chaired by Cabinet Ministers, will address and resolve issues related to the staging and organisation of these events.
According to the CM, the committees will maintain constant communication with event organisers to prioritise their needs and suggestions. The focus is on providing prompt relief and making quick decisions.
Cabinet Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh has been appointed Chairman of the Ramlila Committee. The members include MLAs Ashok Goyal, Anil Kumar Sharma, Shyam Sharma, Sanjay Goyal, and Sandeep Sahrawat. The Divisional Commissioner, Neeraj Semwal, will serve as the Member Secretary. For Durga Puja, Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa will chair the committee. MLAs Neeraj Basoya, Ravindra Negi, Chandan Chaudhary, and Karnail Singh are members. Divisional Commissioner Neeraj Semwal will also be the Member Secretary for this committee.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the committees’ primary purpose is to ensure the prompt resolution of any difficulties that may arise during the preparation and staging of these major religious events. This initiative is seen as a proactive measure to streamline the organisational process and avoid last-minute hurdles for the organisers.
