Delhi University is all to ensure smooth and fair Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections on September 18 and is committed along with the police to zero tolerance of any violations any violations of Lyngdoh Committee recommendations and DUSU Elections guidelines.
Making this assertion after a review meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh, the varsity said it was decided that all efforts will be made to ensure fair, transparent and clean elections.
Also, due measures will be taken by the University of Delhi and by Delhi Police to ensure smooth polling and timely declaration of elections results.
As regards security arrangements, DCP (North Zone) has assured all possible Police arrangements for smooth functioning.
The college election will be through paper ballot and arrangements will be made by the college itself.
The EVMs will be made available for DUSU office bearers election only.
The College Principals/HODs/Deans are advised to follow the instructions issued in the form of notifications on DUSU webpage from time to time. Moreover, important mobile numbers and relevant instructions are made available to the participants.
The review meeting was attended by Dean of Colleges, Professor Rajni Abbi, Director, South Campus, Proctor, Registrar, Professor Raj Kishor Sharma (Chief Election Officer), Rajesh Singh (Chief Returning Officer), Raja Bantha (DCP North District) and police officials from all over Delhi, principals of various colleges and heads of departments, provosts and wardens of various hostels.
