Kapil Mishra lays emphasis on rural development

Delhi’s Development Minister Kapil Mishra has laid special emphasis on rural development and the swift redressal of villagers’ problems. The minister visited the villages of Dabri, Nasirpur, Manglapuri and Sagarpur under Dwarka Assembly Constituency. On this occasion, MLA Pradyumn Singh Rajput and Kuldeep Solanki were also present.

The tour began from Dabri village in Dwarka Assembly. Addressing the gathering, the Development Minister said that the visit was aimed at understanding the ground reality of Delhi’s villages and closely listening to the issues faced by the people.

He highlighted that during inspections it became evident that rural areas of Delhi have been neglected for almost a decade. Villagers shared that no minister had visited them for years, while village community halls (chaupals) lay broken, roads were in poor condition, water arrangements were absent, and even streetlights were dysfunctional.

Mishra further stated that while this situation is worrisome, all these issues will now be resolved in a time-bound manner. He directed the concerned departments to complete works including development of streets, roads, drains, water and sewer lines, installation of streetlights and repair of chaupals within a fixed timeline.

During the inspection, villagers also raised the issue of the Chhath Ghat located at Sagarpur Park. Mishra informed that the ghat had been closed for the past seven years, with no celebrations taking place. MLA Pradyumn Singh Rajput had been continuously raising this concern and now this year, Chhath Puja will once again be organised there. He further added that this year, the festival will be celebrated on an even larger and more magnificent scale.

The minister emphasised that Delhi’s long-neglected villages are now moving toward a new era. “Our commitment is to nurture every chaupal, every street, every field and every water body. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, every village in Delhi will now be integrated into the mainstream of development.”

He further announced that as part of the upcoming Seva Pakhwada (Fortnight of Service), beginning next week, the Delhi Government will organise special programs in collaboration with social and civil organisations.
