Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla congratulated the people of Madhya Pradesh on the approval for the proposed White Tiger Breeding Centre at Govindgarh, Rewa.

He expressed gratitude to the Central Government for the same. Shukla stated that this project reflects the state government’s commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of environmental conservation and sustainable development. The establishment of the White Tiger Breeding Centre will not only help increase the white tiger population but also boost tourism. This initiative strengthens the state’s commitment to tiger conservation and nature preservation.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh government remains fully committed to biodiversity conservation, wildlife protection, and tourism development. The approval for the White Tiger Breeding Centre at Govindgarh, Rewa, is a significant achievement in this direction. He affirmed that the state is working tirelessly to become a model in wildlife conservation.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has earned prestigious titles like “Tiger State,” “Leopard State,” and “Cheetah State” for its remarkable achievements in wildlife conservation. The state has recorded the highest leopard population in the country, reflecting its rich forest habitats. Through the successful rehabilitation of cheetahs brought from Namibia and South Africa, Madhya Pradesh has also earned the distinction of being the “Cheetah State.” Parks such as Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Satpura, and Panna Tiger Reserves are known for their innovative conservation efforts, which have been appreciated by national and international wildlife experts. These achievements underscore Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to being a leader in wildlife conservation.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla said that establishment of the White Tiger Breeding Centre at Govindgarh will ensure the protection and growth of the white tiger population. Additionally, the centre will give a new direction to wildlife tourism in the state. As a leader in tiger conservation, Madhya Pradesh will further strengthen its position with this initiative.

Deputy Chief Minister added that the White Tiger Breeding Centre will generate new employment opportunities for the local communities. It will also attract tourists from across the country and abroad, giving a distinct identity to the Rewa and Satna regions on the tourism map.

Under the revised Master (Layout) Plan of Maharaja Martand Singh Judeo White Tiger Safari and Zoo, Mukundpur, Satna, the proposal for establishing a satellite facility as the White Tiger Breeding Centre at Govindgarh, Rewa, has been approved by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA). This approval follows recommendations made by the expert group in its 114th meeting held on December 9 and 17, 2024, and by the technical committee in its 112th meeting held on December 19, 2024.
