Course on stainless steel at IIT Kharagpur
Bhubaneswar: The IIT Kharagpur and the Jindal Stainless have tied up to introduce a three-credit course on stainless steel and advanced ferrous alloys as part of the former’s undergraduate and postgraduate curriculums for the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. The course shall comprise the study of stainless steel and the uniqueness of its various grades, behavioural and forming characteristics, determination of life-cycle cost, and an understanding of the entire gamut of applications; along with the study of advanced ferrous alloys. The course shall commence as an elective from the autumn semester (July-November 2019) with an initial batch of around 50-60 students.
D’nal biz body plans blood camp on Madhu Jayanti
Dhenkanal: The Dhenkanal Chamber of Commerce and Industry would organise a blood donation camp here on the 170th birth anniversary of Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das on April 28 (Sunday). This was informed by chamber president Sarat Chandra Padhi in a preparatory meeting held here on Wednesday. Padhi said the lawyers’ association, Rotary Club, Dhenkanal Club and other associations and clubs have been invited to take part in the camp.
Ganjam lawyer honoured with Bisuba Samman
Brahmapur: The Ajira Odisha Darbar awarded the Bisuba Samman 2019 to Ganjam’s senior lawyer Dr Sudhansu Prasad Pati here on Wednesday.
