AJSU Party announces CP Chaudhary as LS candidate from Giridih

Saturday, 30 March 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The AJSU Party on Friday announced its candidate as Chandraprakash Chaudhary from Giridih. The decision was taken in the meeting of the AJSU Parliamentary Board on Friday. AJSU Party President Sudesh Mahato gave the information in the press conference. Chaudhary's name was being discussed from Giridih Lok Sabha seat and the party formally approved it. Choudhary is the sitting MP of AJSU Party from Giridih Lok Sabha seat.

The National Democratic Alliance has now announced candidates from all 14 seats of Jharkhand. Out of the 14 seats 13 are being contested by BJP and one is being contested by the AJSU Party.

Sita Soren, who recently joined the BJP, is contesting from Dumka, Annapurna Devi from Koderma, Geeta Koda from Singhbhum, Sanjay Seth from Ranchi, Arjun Munda from Khunti, Sameer Oraon from Lohardaga, VD Ram from Palamu, Vidyutvaran Mahato from Jamshedpur, Kalicharan Singh from Chatra. , Dhullu Mahato from Dhanbad, Tala Marandi from Rajmahal, Manish Jaiswal from Hazaribagh and Nishikant Dubey from Godda are the candidates of BJP, while Chandraprakash Choudhary has been fielded by the AJSU Party from Giridih.

Meanwhile, JMM MLA Chamra Linda is planning to contest from Lohardaga seat. Linda has applied for no objection certificate in the Assembly to contest the polls. With both Congress and BJP announcing their candidates for Lohardaga, Chamra Linda’s entry is likely to play a spoilsport for Congress and JMM.

Congress has made Sukhdev Bhagat its candidate from Lohardaga, while BJP has nominated Sameer Oraon. If Chamra Linda enters the field, there is every possibility of a break in the alliance. In such a situation, there will be dispersion of votes which BJP will take full advantage of. The contest is going to be triangular here. Efforts to convince Chamra Linda have intensified. A party minister has been given the responsibility of convincing him.

JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that if Congress has declared the candidate, then it should also guarantee victory. Our claim was on Lohardaga for many reasons, but Congress has declared its candidate but JMM will follow the alliance dharma. On JMM's Chamra Linda being adamant about contesting the elections, he said that if someone from any other party or independent contests, he will be dealt with as per the constitution of the organization.

Chamra Linda contested the Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 2004 as an independent candidate from Lohardaga Lok Sabha seat. In this election, Dr. Rameshwar Oraon was in the fray from Congress Party and Professor Dukha Bhagat from Bharatiya Janata Party. Dr. Rameshwar Oraon had won the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from Lohardaga Lok Sabha seat.
