Team inspects Jamshedpur Cooperative College for election preparedness

Jamshedpur: As the Lok Sabha elections approach, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal conducted an inspection at Cooperative College, Jamshedpur. The purpose of the visit was to assess the preparations for the dispatch, receiving, and counting of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and to provide necessary guidelines to officials.

After reviewing various aspects such as the construction of strong rooms, maintenance of EVMs, security arrangements, barricading, signage, parking, and traffic plans, necessary guidelines were issued to officials. The inspection also focused on reviewing the separate strong rooms, distribution of election materials, maintenance of EVMs and VVPATs, parking arrangements for vehicles, campus security, traffic plans, CCTV surveillance, and the EVM receiving plan.

The Cooperative College will serve as the dispatch point for polling parties for three assembly constituencies—47-Jugsalai, 48-Jamshedpur East, and 49-Jamshedpur West. Additionally, it will also host the receiving and counting of EVMs for all assembly constituencies post-voting. Officials were instructed to ensure the availability of basic facilities such as reserve facilities, seating arrangements for medical teams, drinking water, toilets, and electricity.

Furthermore, an inspection was conducted at XLRI to assess parking arrangements for vehicles, ensuring comprehensive preparations for the smooth conduct of the electoral process.

The District Election Officer emphasized the importance of protective preparations and issued instructions to concerned officers regarding the dispatch, receiving, and counting of EVMs. The aim is to conduct the elections in a fair, transparent, and well-organized manner, with all necessary preparations being implemented meticulously.

The inspection was conducted in the presence of various officials including City SP Mukesh Lunayat, ADM Law and Order Ananth Kumar, ADC Rohit Sinha, Director NEP Ajay Sao, DTO Dhananjay, Deputy Election Officer Mrs. Priyanka Singh, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Oraon, DSP Traffic, Police Station Incharges, and other key personnel.

As the electoral machinery gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, thorough inspections and proactive measures are being undertaken to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process. The commitment of officials to uphold the integrity and transparency of elections remains unwavering.
