'Rui Ka Bojh'evokes good response

Monday, 09 September 2013 | SR | Bhopal

A Bollywood movie Rui Ka Bojh was screened here on Sunday. The film was screened under weekly film screenings organised by Chhavi wing of Bharat Bhavan.

Rui Ka Bojh was directed by Subhash Agarwal and was made by NFDC. The movie stars Pankaj Kapur, Rima lagoo and Raghuvir Yadav. The movie was released in the year 1997 having the running time of 115 minutes.

The movie revolves around an old man Kishunsah. Kishunsah is a self-respecting, wise old man who decides to divide his property amongst his family the moment he suspects that all is not well between his sons and daughter-in-law.

After the division, Kishunsah settles down with his youngest son, but his tranquil life comes to an end sooner than expected. He has to face the rewards of old age-the humiliation, the insults.

He has no value now. One day he is thrown into the junk room to live. He feels completely detached from the family and decides to snap all ties and renounce the world forever.

While talking to The Pioneer, in-charge of Chhavi series Narendra Rai said, “Earlier the film screening used to happen only on special occasions, but now as a part of Bharat Bhavan’ wings Chhavi has begun screening movies on regular basis. For past five months we are screening movies of different genres which are much enjoyed by the audiences,” he added.

Recently there was a huge gap in the weekly film screenings. Over this Rai said, “Recently we conducted a film festival on movies based on Shakespeare’s novels and so there was a gap in the weekly screenings. But the screening has started again to entertain the movie watchers of the city.”

The show evoked a good response and the young crowd was the part of the audience and enjoyed the show. As many as 100 audiences were present at the hall.
