AAP's Poorvanchali candidates win big

The Aam Aadmi Party’s all 13 Poorvanchali candidates registered victories by massive margins on Tuesday as the party won the Delhi Assembly elections with a huge mandate after fighting an acerbic poll battle with the BJP. Sanjeev Jha, candidate from Burari, won by polling 1,24,724 votes against BJP’s Gopal Jha who got 56,774 votes. In Kirari Assembly constituency, Rituraj Govind pulled total 97,727 votes with BJP’s Anil Jha coming second by getting total 52,555 votes. In Shalimar Bagh, AAP’s Bandana Kumar recorded victory by pulling total 62,656 votes against BJP’s Rekha Gupta who got total 51,678 votes.

In Janakpuri constituency, AAP’s Rajesh Rishi pulled 71,802 votes against its BJP rival Jagdish Mukhi who got 46,222 votes. Mukhi had won this Assembly seat in 2013 Assembly polls. AAP’s former Cabinet Minister Somnath Bharti registered victory once again by polling 51,196 votes against BJP’s Nandani Sharma, who featured second after getting 35,299 votes.

Sitting MlA from Model Town, Akhilesh Pati Tripathi pulled 54,628 votes against BJP’s Vivek Garg who received total 37,922 votes. AAP’s candidate from Dwarka Adarsh Shastri pulled 79,729 votes against BJP’s Praduymn Rajput who got 40,363 votes. Rajput is the sitting MlA from this constituency. Former Delhi Cabinet Minister and AAP candidate from Patparganj Manish Sisodia once again registered victory by pulling 75,477 votes against its arch-rival Vinod Kumar Binny from BJP who got 46,716 votes.

From Babarpur Assembly seat, Gopal Rai mustered 75,928 votes whereas BJP’s Naresh Gaur received total 40,440 votes. Gaur registered victory on this seat in 2013 Assembly elections. AAP’s Kapil Mishra pulled total 1,01,865 votes while BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht pulled 57,434 votes who was the sitting MlA from this seat.

Narayan Dutt Sharma won by pulling total 94,242 votes from Badarpur against Ramvir Singh Bidhuri with 46,659. Deoli candidate from AAP, Prakash got total 96,530 votes as against BJP’s Arvind Kumar who pulled 32,593 votes. From Timarpur, Pankaj Pushkar pulled 64,477 votes against BJP’s Rajni Abbi who got 43,830 votes.
