11 cars gutted in Honda showroom short circuit

Wednesday, 19 December 2018 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

A massive fire broke out at Honda showroom at Patparganj on early hours of Monday. Around 11 cars were gutted in fire which is assumed to be caused due to short circuit in showroom.

According to a senior Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official, they received a call at around 4:24 am on Monday regarding a fire in a showroom following which 12 fire tenders rushed to the spot.

"It took two hours to douse the fire. Both ground floor and first floor were caught in fire. Several cars, computers and office furniture in the showroom had been burnt. There is no causality as showroom was closed," said the senior DFS official.

"There are other cars showrooms adjacent to building. If it wouldn't have doused on time there was fear of this fire to spread in other buildings," said the DFS official.

" Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire was caused due to short-circuit. Around 11 cars on display in showroom were burnt in the incident. Further investigation is going on," said a police official.
