Third gender community has claimed their representation from Korba assembly constituency.
One of its members Malti Kinnar on Monday took the nomination forms from the District Electoral Office and had declared of contesting the polls.
After Madhu Kinnar was elected as Raigarh City Mayor ,the morale of third gender community is high and this time they have claimed the Korba assembly seat .
Notably, Jaisingh Agrawal from Congress and Vikas Mahto from Bharatiya Janata Party are in the fray from Korba. Malti had earlier fought the urban body elections in 2014 in Korba but was defeated. Malti in a statement said that till then they were supporting Congress but the party had neglected them and had never given them representation. They are fighting the elections in public interest and not for personal gain, Malti said.
Malti further informed that apart from third gender from Chhattisgarh, Kinnar community from Sagar and Bhopal too would be campaigning for her.
Guru Shabnam Mausi had sent blessings and had agreed for campaigning for Malti in the elections, Malti said.
