Five policemen were injured in the incident and one of their staff member shot a video blaming local Station House Officer (SHO) for the attack.

According to sources, the vigilance team on receiving  inputs regarding illegal gambling and sale of illicit liquor by a group in the area went to the spot where a group of people allegedly attacked police personnel including Sub Inspector Suresh, SI Rakesh and Assistant SI Krishan.

Other injured are ASI Dharamveer, ASI Virender, and Head Constable Pradeep of the Vigilance Team.

In the video, the official video-graphing the incident alleged that they were attacked by the mob on the incitement of area Station House Officer and the beat constables posted in Ranhola police station.

He claimed that around 50-60 men with bricks and sticks in their hand attacked them.

The man shooting the video alleged that at the time of incident, the beat constable was standing there and didn’t come forward to control the mob.
