60-yr-old man sets self ablaze, dies

A 60-year-old man who set himself ablaze on Monday at Shivaji Ward died during treatment at Hamidia hospital on Tuesday; Gandhi Nagar police have started investigation.

Police said that the deceased Rajkumar Jhamnani set himself ablaze and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment on Tuesday.

In the initial investigation it was found that the deceased sustained injury in his leg and was bed ridden due to injury for long. He used to remain depressed due to his condition and frustrated over his situation he set himself ablaze. The deceased was taken to Vijay Shree hospital where he was referred to Hamidia hospital and in the afternoon on Tuesday he died during treatment. Police found that the deceased was heavily addicted to liquor. No suicide note was found from the deceased which could help in establishing the reason behind the suicide.

The body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered. Further investigation has been started.

Meanwhile Berasia police have booked a 28-year-old married woman who injured her one year old baby by dropping melting polythene bag at Khuja khedi village on Monday; her husband lodged complaint with the police.

The accused mother Preeti Valmiki after getting angry over her husband Dharmendra’s refusal to visit her parents in Vidisha dropped melting polythene bag which she was using to repair plastic container.
