Bhupesh Baghel’s jail ‘Satyagrah’ a political drama: Chandrakar

Accusing that Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Bhupesh Baghel was indulging in character assassination, State Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development, Ajay Chandrakar has called the former’s ‘Satyagrah’ in jail a ‘political drama’.

Addressing a Press conference here at State BJP office 'Ekatma Parisar' on Tuesday evening, Chandrakar came down heavily on Baghel and charged him of deteriorating the peaceful atmosphere of state ahead of upcoming polls.

The act of Baghel was ‘shameful’ and people of the state have always shown door to person indulging in such criminal activities and this time too they will teach Baghel a lesson, he said.

It is unfortunate and is height of absurdity that Baghel has named ‘Satyagrah’ to the punishment he had been given for committing a crime, he said.

The Congress is already facing a threat of existence and such an absurd act will decline its base whatever was remaining . The Congress party is facing a threat of extinction and the current episode of ‘drama’ was in a bid to survive from it, Chandrakar said.

Congress itself had demanded CBI probe over the issue and by not taking bail in the matter Baghel had proved that he was making effort to take political mileage over the issue, he said.
