BJP raises temple issue only during elections: Congress

Lashing out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for playing politics in name of Lord Ram, senior Congress leader and former union minister RPN Singh said on Thursday that BJP remembers Lord Ram only during elections for electoral gains.

The Congress leader made the comment in wake of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday visited to a Ram temple in Raipur located on VIP Road.

While addressing a press conference at State Congress Office Rajiv Bhawan, RPN Singh said, “the BJP was not serious about  the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and it raises the issue during elections only to take political mileage and garner votes”.

Singh further reiterated the commitment made by Congress in its election manifesto about loan waiver for farmers within 10 days if the party is voted to power in Chhattisgarh,’’.
