Case registered for Facebook post on Lord Hanuman

Friday, 14 December 2018 | PNS | Lucknow

Within 24 hours of a controversial poster coming up near Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence, sending the local administration in a tizzy, a Facebook post showing Lord Hanuman sitting at the feet of Dr BR Ambedkar has created a storm in the cup.

The Facebook account is in the name of one Manoj.

District chief of Parsuram Sena Brahma Vahini got a case registered in this connection at Iglas police station of Aligarh, alleging that the accused hurt the sentiments of Hindus by uploading the objectionable picture and it was a sinister effort to fuel caste and communal conflict in Uttar Pradesh.

The Aligarh police have launched a hunt for the person who posted the objectionable picture.

The picture was uploaded on the Facebook wall of Manoj and depicts Lord Hanuman sitting at Dr Ambedkar’s feet and apologising.

Earlier, after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s claim that Lord Hanuman was a “jungle dweller and a Dalit” at an election meeting in Rajasthan, members of Bhim Army have been trying to provoke Dalits to grab all temples of Lord Hanuman.
