Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced old-age pension for additional five lakh beneficiaries in the State under the Madhubabu Pension Yojana.
The new beneficiaries would avail the benefit under the scheme from December 15. With this, a total of 48 lakh persons in the State would get old-age pension of Rs 300 or Rs 500 per month as per the criteria.
While people aged between 60 and 80 years get Rs 300 old-age pension, beneficiaries aged above 80 years receive Rs 500 under the scheme.
Announcing this at a meeting at the State Secretariat, Patnaik said that not a single eligible beneficiary would be left out of the scheme.
Besides, the Chief Minister also declared that 40,000 artists would get assistance of Rs 1,200 per month under the Mukhya Mantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana with effect from December 15.
The CM directed the district Collectors to disburse the assistance to beneficiaries under both the schemes from December 15 to 20 by organising special camps.
Chief Secretary AP Padhi, Development Commissioner Asit Tripathy, Secretaries of different line departments and other senior officials were, among others, present.
