Wednesday, 19 September 2018 | Staff Reporter | Bilaspur

Police resorted to heavy cane charge on Congress party workers on Tuesday when they gheraoed the private bungalow of State Urban Development Minister Amar Agrawal while also dumping garbage at the premises of his bungalow as a mark of protest here.

The party workers were staging a demonstration after reported statement of Minister Amar Agarwal who had allegedly termed ‘Congress party’ as ‘Garbage’.

Angry Congress party protesters courted arrest and were cane charged by policemen to quell them from the scene.

Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Bhupesh Baghel has strongly condemned the cane charge on Congress party workers and has demanded a judicial inquiry by a High Court Sitting Judge into the incident.

The District unit of BJP in Bilaspur said dumping garbage by Congress workers in the residential premises of the Minister was not a good act.

Everybody has the right to protest but dumping garbage in the Minister’s residential premises was highly objectionable , it said.
