Cultural festival to begin from December 20

School students from 18 States and two Union Territories would participate in a cultural festival beginning here on December 20, a senior official announced on Tuesday.

The two-day ‘Rashtriya Balrang-2018’ is being organised by the School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalya, said State’s Public Instructions Commissioner Jaishri Kiyawat. Governor Anandiben Patel would inaugurate the event.

“‘Balrang’ is a unique programme that has been held in Bhopal since the past 23 years. As many as 520 students from various schools in 18 states and two union territories will present folk dances, songs and other cultural programmes. Winning teams would be given awards”, said Kiyawat.

On December 19, a competition of teams from various divisions of Madhya Pradesh would be held, and a team would be selected for participation in ‘Balrang 2018’, she added. At the occasion, an exhibition about career counselling would also be organised.

While informing about the event, Kiyawat and other officials and IGRMS Director Prof Sarit Chaudhury released the logo and poster of the Bal Rang’.

The state level competitions which includes patriotic poetry recitation (stage – Coastal Village Cenotaph), Literary (Essay, Poetry, Gazal, Folk News) at lake side open air auditorium, cultural (classical dance, music and folk dance) at Avriti Gallery., Sanskrit (Nritya Natika, Quiz, Ved Pat, speech and essay), Madrasa (Qawali, Bahasmubahisa and quiz), competitions for disabled children and Yoga competitions will be organized on Monday, December 19, 2018.
