The video clip of a meeting between Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, industrialist Gautam Adani and officials and a purportedly distorted news report based on it used by critics to lambast the State Government is now being cited by the Bharatiya Janata Party as evidence of a ‘conspiracy’ of the Congress.
The BJP State media in charge Devendra Bhasin said that the party had been stating from the start that the Congress had been conspiring against the investors summit and building up a negative atmosphere in a planned manner to deter investors from arriving here. However, the summit was a success with MoUs worth Rs 1,25,000 being signed between the State and various enterprises. Bhasin said, “Miffed at the success of the summit, Congress leaders conspired to depict the summit as a failure- as a result of which a doctored video of a meet between the CM and a prominent industrialist was used to make a wrong presentation.
This video was shared from the Facebook wall of a former Pradesh Congress Committee president by a news portal and later Tweeted by the Congress national general secretary and former Chief Minister.
Now that the State information department has lodged a complaint and the police are investigating it, more layers are likely to be uncovered.
Action will be taken against those involved in this conspiracy even as the episode has once again unmasked the Congress.”
Bhasin, further, alleged that earlier, as part of a conspiracy against the State Government and BJP, Congress leaders had instigated a transporter who had later consumed poison and committed suicide in the BJP State office.
Congress leaders orchestrated other actions too and also attempted to target the chief minister’s family without success. Bhasin opined that Congress leaders dreaming of winning all five seats in Uttarakhand in the coming parliamentary elections are living in a fool’s paradise.
The people of Uttarakhand will teach the Congress a lesson by defeating its candidates on all the five seats, he added.
