Drug addicts have got a field day in Phulbani town and are continuously disturbing peace of the locality. In spite of police raids, some shops are selling low-cost drugs to the minors.
Consequently, these drug addicts create many nuisances in the town including passing lewd comments at school and college going girls. These mischief mongers are active in Peonpada Chhak, Forest Colony, Brahman Devi temple campus, Narayanai temple road and Central School road, etc.
On December 14, some drug-addicts attacked one Sunil Parida, secretary, Police Constable Association, while he was returning from duty on the way near daily haat. In yet another incident, one Muna Digal attacked OIC Gochapada, Tarun Tapan Behera near the bus stand area. This indicates that these miscreants have turned vindictive towards the police.
