Udbhav Greenwood International Dance Festival is back this year with 150 International and 700 national artists performing various dance forms. This is the fifteenth edition of the International event and even just after its first edition it caught the imagination of the public of the Gwalior Chambal region as well as notable artists from various European and Asian countries.
Total 150 artists from Bulgaria, Sri Lanka and Turkey and 700 participants from various Indian states have been poignantly portraying the contemporary relevance of Indian mythology and folklores from across the world through majestic dance-dramas for the past two days.
The audience got an opportunity to see a diverse range of dance-dramas, ranging from mythology to folklore, from history of dance to conservation and environment, from traditional dance forms to varied contemporary styles apart from messages of ‘Save the Child’ and Women Empowerment. For many in the audience it was a new and unique experience.
Participants from DPS School, Emerald Heights, Indore and Ramkrishna Vidya Mandir, Gwalior gave performances based on classical dance forms while Bhawans Vidya Mandir, Nagpur, OP Jindal School, Hisar and Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Gwalior performed Folklore based dance forms.
Artists from SaraswathiNrityakalaMandir, Chennai; Jalana Wala Kala Niketan, Mumbai; Vidya Dance Academy, Bhopal; Billabogh International School, Bhopal; Rock Breakers, Bangalore and Sun City School, Delhi also gave sterling performances on various themes.
Speaking to the media persons, KeshavPandey, President, Udbhav and Deepak Tomar, Secretary said that the idea behind the Dance Festival is to give a platform to the very talented yet seldom seen performers from across India and other countries.
