Hridayesh targets BJP, seeks votes from Haldwani residents

Tuesday, 30 October 2018 | PNS | Haldwani

The BJP Governments at the Centre and State are busy making tall claims with the ‘double engine’ Government achieving little on the ground. The previous Congress Government had fulfilled the promises it had made to the public unlike the current Government due to which the people are getting disenchanted with the BJP. The Congress mayoral candidate for Haldwani, Sumit Hridayesh said this while addressing a public gathering here on Monday.

Hridayesh said that the promises he is making to the public now, will be acted upon if he is elected the mayor of Haldwani. The leader of opposition and Haldwani MLA Indira Hridayesh said that there was considerable difference in the statements and actions of the BJP Governments at the Centre and State.

During its one and a half year in office so far, the State Government has done little and even stalled the schemes started by the previous Government which shows that it is functioning in a vindictive manner. She also requested the public to vote in favour of the Congress candidate in the Haldwani municipal corporation election.

During the meet, locals raised the issue of drinking water supply. They said that the residents of Adarsh Nagar, Shyam Vihar had been facing problem of water supply for some years now. Despite informing the authorities concerned repeatedly, the problem had not been solved so far, they said. The Congress mayoral candidate said that if elected to office, he would resolve such problems on a priority basis.
