Electronic goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in a massive fire which broke out on the third floor of a building in MP Nagar Zone 1 in the afternoon on Wednesday. Short circuit was reportedly the reason behind the incident.
More than a dozen fire tender vehicles took around three hours to control and pacify the fire which broke at around 2.30 in the afternoon.
In the incident no one was injured and no casualty was reported. The employees of the firm were evacuated after the fire broke out. Taking preventive action the nearby buildings were evacuated.
SHO of MP Nagar Upendra Bhati said that at around 2.30 pm fire broke out at upper floor of Perfect Computers which deals in computer and accessories.
The floor which caught fire had good amount of electronic goods and the loss could be not ascertained as no one from the firm has claimed the loss but the loss would be of lakhs of rupees.
Panic prevailed in the area after the fire broke out. The fire tenders were witnessed making their way to the building due to congested road filled with uneven parked vehicles on the both side of the roads.
Initially the employees tried to control the fire but failed and later fire brigade took control of the situation.
The furniture and electronic goods at the firm completely gutted in fire. Police was not able to confirm that it was a godown or it was as store as firm is yet to report the details of the loss incurred due to fire.
