The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested four people, including a minor, for their involvement in the murder of one Deepak at Bankner Village under the jurisdiction of Narela Police Station on September 12. Deepak had threatened one of the accused Sumit, who claimed to be in a relationship with the girl to stop meeting her as he was in love with her. This led to a feud between Deepak and Sumit. Sumit and his associates then murdered the victim.
“The accused Sumit Bhardwaj (19) and his associates Sachin Khatri (21), Shiv (21) and a 16-year-old minor stabbed Deepak multiple times in his abdomen and neck near Dada Mai Wala Mandir , Bankner in Narela at around 8:40 pm on September 12.
The victim’s friend was also stabbed when he tried to intervene but managed to flee,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Rajiv Ranjan stated.
“The accused persons also robbed the victim’s vehicle and a motorcycle. The murder was committed at a public place on the main road which created fear among the people in Narela of Outer Delhi. Keeping in view the gravity of the incident, a team of SOS-I Crime Branch Rohini started working on the case,” Ranjan stated.
“On Friday, Assistant Sub Inspector Narender of SOS-I Crime Branch, Rohini received information about Sumit and Sachin. A trap was laid near Siraspur Gurudwara on GT Road. At about 08.30 am Sumit Bhardwaj, Sachin Khatri, Shiv and a Minor were apprehended from the spot,” the Additional CP revealed. They were subjected to sustained interrogation. It was found that accused Sumit Bhardwaj was having an affair with a girl residing in same village. The deceased Deepak also liked the girl.
