Movie ‘The Wind Rises’ screened

The second day of 17th Anjali National Children and Youth Festival 2018 was celebrated at the railway auditorium, Chandrashekharpur here on Wednesday which began with a panel discussion, workshops and Biscope.

Simultaneously, as the event was not limited to one venue, an Origami workshop was held at the State Museum and a science model workshop was held at the Regional Science Centre.

Discussing on “Accessibility and Universal Design in Smart Cities”, speaker Shibani Gupta, Professor Sabyasachi Mohanty, Raj Kunwar Nayak and Mihir Mohanty from Swabhiman highlighted valuable points.

Besides, about 30 children were trained by Kalinga Stadium’s Tennis Coach Debashish Kumar Pandab in a tennis workshop, 12 children were trained in music workshop by music scholar Santosh Kumar Nayak and nine students participated in the magic workshop conducted by Sudhanshu Das.

On the other hand, an art and craft workshop on bamboo designing by Avinash Dehuri and a philately workshop conducted by Ajeet Kumar Raut were organised in which many students participated.

Later in the 8th edition of ‘Biscope’, ‘The Wind Rises’ directed by Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki was screened for the children in collaboration with the Film Society, Bhubaneswar and made available by the Children Film Society of India.

Among others, Jammu and Kashmir SSA coordinator TR Mangotri, Sikkim team leader Diki Poma Lapcha and Swabhiman founder chief executive Dr Sruti Mahapatra and Cherry Blossoms School, Nagaland teacher Seli Tucker were present.
