The book lovers of the city can suggest their favourite authors to each other. Swami Vivekananda Library has brought a new collection of fiction books and a review process at the library.
Swami Vivekananda Library, Assistant Manager, Yatish Bhatele said that in the last few years it has been observed that the trend of members in non-fiction books has increased. It can be seen by gathering the suggestions received by members that readers are trending on which books. It has been found in the survey that even today the number of fictitious books in the books issued by the library is the highest, but besides this, history, self development, biography and relegious are preferred.
He further said that today readers are also aware of new authors and titles. After reading the reviews coming in other website such as Good Reads, Amazon, members recommend their collection for library collection. From time book reviews are added in the library.
The authors whose reviews have been collected till now include Yuval Noah Harari, who has secured a degree from Oxford University on World History. The books written by them were Sepenians: A Brief History of Human Kind and Homo deuce. His third book is 21 Lessons for the 21st Century. In this book, he has attracted the attention of readers on issues related to today's issues such as nuclear war, technological obstacles, terrorism etc.
Yatish Bhatele, also said that the history of development of the last 100 thousand years of human beings has been brought down in his book Sapiens.
Other than this, books including Devil's Advocate The Untold Story by Thapar, Why I am a Hindu by Shashi Tharoor, God Save the Supreme Court by Fali Nariman and Reflections of a Star by Amitabh Bachchan are included in the library.
Apart from this, members in Swami Vivekananda Library can give suggestions for each other.
Members can write the review on Member Review Board and can give their favorite books as suggestions for other members.
