NTPC starts building infra at Talaipalli mining site

NTPC Ltd will soon start working for construction of an administrativ office building at Raikera village of Talaipalli Mining Project with plans to construct a sewage treatment plant.

Notably, the Talaipalli block in Chhattisgarh will have a coal mining capacity of 18 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA), officials informed.

The Gross Reserves (GR) of the Talaipalli block is 1267 MMT.

All environmental clearances have been received for the block, officials informed.

NTPC Ltd is expected to commence coal production from Talaipalli block in Raigarh district by November 2019, official sources informed.

The company had been granted bridge linkage for seeking coal supply from the Talaipalli block by the Union Coal Ministry.

The scheduled date of start of coal production from the coal block as per the Coal Mines Development and Production Agreement is financial year 2019-20.

The Board of Directors of NTPC Ltd has accorded investment approval for Talaipalli project in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh for mining 18 Million Tonnes per annum of coal at an appraised current estimated cost of Rs 3004 crore.
