Players exhibit talents at Shooting Championship

Marking the second day of the 28th All India GV Mavalankar Shooting Championship being played in the State capital, the players from across the country exhibited their shooting talent.

The championship is being played at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy. Here on Monday the players competed with each other in the Trap event.

Under the competition, the players from Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi and Uttarakhand maintained dominance. While the Army players are ahead in the service category.

In the junior men's individual event under the championship, Punjab’s player Gurpreet Singh, Davyank Mohan of Haryana and shooter Sehajpreet Singh of Punjab maintained their lead for the first, second and third positions respectively. In the Trap Men's event, Devi Mohan of Haryana secured first position, Sehajpreet Singh of Punjab secured second position and Ronald of Delhi secured third position.

In the Trap Women event of the championship, Delhi's player Arusha Verma, Sushma Singh of Uttarakhand and Haryana's player Kiran, maintained the lead at the first, second and third positions respectively. In the Trap Junior Women event, Delhi's player Pravasi Tripathi, Haryana's player Kiran and Rajasthan's player Harshita lead the score board with first, second and third positions respectively.

In the Men's Veteran’s category, Maharashtra's Praveen Singh and Gujarat's Jahan Baksh lead the score board with securing first and second positions respectively. In the service category, Amit Singh, Harshvardhan and Rajesh Singh of the Army are leading in the first, second and third positions respectively.

Here on Monday, Punjab’s Governor V. P. Singh Badnour conducted training in the Trap event of Veteran’ss category. It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, the competition will be played in the Trap event in which V. P. Singh Badnour will also perform.
