Police officer’s house burgled, valuables worth Rs 1.30L stolen

House of a police officer at 1100 Quarters under Habibganj police station area was burgled on Friday and valuables worth Rs 1.30 lakh were taken away. The officer is posted at State Police Headquarter and he was at office when the incident was reported.

Police said that the victim Sanjay Chogalkar had gone to work at State Police Headquarters and in the afternoon his neighbor informed that the door was found open and lock broken. A complaint was lodged with the police and in his complaint victim stated that he had gone on work while the house was burgled. Gold and silver jewelry and Rs 5000 cash were burgled. The total loss is around Rs 1.30 lakh.

Meanwhile, miscreants targeted a house in Kajlikheda under Kolar police station area and escaped with valuables worth Rs 1 lakh on Thursday. Police said that the house of Ravin Das at Kajlikheda was burgled and valuables worth Rs 1 lakh were taken away.

According to the police, victim along with his family had gone to meet relatives and when they returned on Thursday they found that the house was burgled. The locks of the door were broken and on entering the house it was found that the house was ransacked. The family found that cash and valuables were missing.

In the initial investigation police found that apart from the cash and jewellery, other valuables of the house were not disturbed which suggests that the miscreants were aware of the valuables.

In the complaint victim has claimed that gold and silver jewelry worth around Rs 1 lakh was burgled. The police have registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
