Punjabi Bagh station gets e-Malkhana

Saturday, 17 November 2018 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik on Friday inaugurated the “e-Malkhana” project of West District at Punjabi Bagh police station, which involved the digitisation of all the 12 police stations in the district. West District is the 4th district in Delhi to achieve complete digitisation in all of its police stations.

The e-Malkhana project involves digitisation of all the case properties, their bar-coding, packaging in boxes, and arrangement in order in proper shelves/sheds.

“This marks a leap for Delhi Police towards its achievement of the objective of “Smart Policing and Swachchh Bharat” mission,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Monika Bhardwaj stated in the official statement.

Speaking on occasion, commissioner underlined that maintenance of Malkhana has always been a priority to keep case property in safe custody and its retrieval for presenting before the court and back safely. After digitisation, it would be easy to retrieve the case property and would also save valuable time and energy.

DCP/West District Monika Bhardwaj informed that there are two new initiatives in digitalisation of Malkhanas of West District. Data of all the records of Government properties, details to whom the property has been issued and more are digitally maintained. Secondly, the bio-metric details of the person who gets released the case property is maintained along with photograph and other records.
