Rs 2,433 crore supplementary Budget passed by State Assembly

The Chhattisgarh Assembly passed the Rs 2,433 crore supplementary Budget with voice vote on Wednesday.

The budget was tabled in the House by Chief Minister Raman Singh, who also holds the finance portfolio.

The budgetary demands include contingency expenditure of Rs 91,200 lakh and Rs 880 lakh for distribution of bonus this Kharif season during procurement of paddy.

The demands also included Rs 1,055 lakh for creating awareness among voters for upcoming elections, under this purpose, a contingency fund of Rs 205 lakh and for adjustments of other expenditure a fund of Rs 205 lakh was demanded.

For travelling expenses during the upcoming elections, a need of Rs 400 lakh was raised. Similarly, for use of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) Rs 1,920 lakh was demanded for procuring necessary material.
