SAD-BJP to take fight for justice for ‘Dussehra Khooni Saaka’ to people

Tuesday, 23 October 2018 | PNS | Chandigarh

Shiromani Akali Dal-Bhartiya Janata Party (SAD-BJP) coordination panel on Monday decided to take up the fight for justice in Amritsar Dussehra Khooni Saaka case as per the decision of the poor affected people who were being repressed and prosecuted by the heartless Congress government even as the guilty Sidhu couple and the organizers of the function roamed scot free.

Addressing a joint press conference after a meeting of the Coordination Committee, SAD president Sukhbir Badal and Punjab BJP president Shwet Malik condemned the registration of cases under section 307 which was liable for life imprisonment punishment against 50 poor persons demanding justice in the case.

They said that in direct contrast, a non-consequential case under section 304-A had been registered against four unidentified persons with regard to the Dusshera tragedy. “This itself proves that the Congress Government has launched a cover-up exercise to save the Sidhu couple — Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu — who are responsible for abetting the murder of 61 persons in the Dussehra Khooni Saka,” they added.

Taking serious note of the Congress leaders indulging in antics like candle light march, Sukhbir said that it was condemnable that the perpetrators of ghastly tragedy were indulging in a candle light march and that this action was akin to sprinkling salt on the wounds of the man made massacre victims.

He said that we demand a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to ensure justice to the poor victims. “This has been done in earlier instances and Pradesh Congress president Sunil Jakhar should not try to mislead people by stating the contrary,” he said.

SAD-BJP DELEGATION TO MEET GOVT

Sukhbir announced that a SAD-BJP delegation would meet Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore on Tuesday to demand justice for the poor victims including compensation of Rs one crore for the victims, Rs 50 lakh for the injured and a government job for each of the victim families.  The Coordination panel said that it seemed that the victim families were being coerced into accepting compensation by the Sidhu couple and that this should not come in the way of announcement of enhanced compensation to them.

SAD-BJP DEMANDS SIDHU’S EXPULSION, CASE AGAINST HIS WIFE’S, ORGANISERS

SAD-BJP Coordination Committee has demanded immediate sack of Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu. The panel also demanded registration of a case against Sidhu for abetting murder along with his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu and the function organizers. The panel pointed that Sidhu was the real chief guest of the function and that he had formed the Dussehra Committee (East) which had organized the function and that posters were also released in his name.
