Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has decided to approach the Central Government to request to approach its Pakistani counterpart in order to secure the inclusion of Kartarpur Sahib shrine into India in exchange for a mutually agreed piece of land elsewhere along the border.
The decision, taken during the core committee meeting on Sunday, came after India decided to called of its proposed talks with the Pakistan over various issues, including the opening of Kartarpur sahib corridor.
In another decision, SAD has decided to commence the preparations for the celebrations of the 550th biorth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev by organising a kirtan darbar and dharmik samagam at Sultanpur Lodhi on the evening of November 17 this year.
“Eminent exponents of gurbani, along with celebrated raagis, will recite hymns from gurbani to spiritually enlighten and enthral the devotees in the evening, said SAD spokesperson Harcharan Bains.
Another resolution condemned the Congress-led State Government for committing ‘a brazen murder of democracy’ during the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls. It stated that the poll process was completely vitiated by the Congress goons under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
