Rural Development Minister Nilkant Singh Munda  today said that the Sakhi Mandal's sisters have become an axis of development in the villages today and eradication of poverty is possible through empowerment of the Sakhi Mandal sisters. The Minister was addressing people during appointment letter distribution to new employees of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society

He said that in the first week of January, the Rural Development Department will organize a Sakhi Manthan programme in every block of the State, whereby the sister of the Sakhi Mandal will be able to share their problems and views before the people's representatives. The Minister gave away appointment letters to newly appointed BPM and BPO selected under Special SC/ST Drive.

While expressing happiness at the progress of the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society, Munda said that till now the government has reached 22 lakh families through the formation of 1.7 lakh Sakhi Mandals under the livelihood mission, which is an achievement for the department. It is credited to the team of Rural Development Department and JSLPS.

Munda directed the DPMs and BPMs to ensure that every family connected with Sakhi Mandal should be connected to at least two means of livelihood. He said that Jharkhand's SakhiMandal model is discussed everywhere, other departments are also reaching out to their plans through Sakhi Mandal, which is a matter of achievement for us. Munda instructed the JSLPS team to ensure proper market conditions for the products of the Board and their prices for the right price of their products. He said that the goal of the Rural Development Department and the Jharkhand Government through JSLPS is to reach the flame of development till the last family of the remote village.

Addressing the officials and JSLPS team of the Sakhi Mandal, Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary, Rural Development Department, said that one should work for connecting the products of Sakhi Mandal with the market. “Encourage women in Sachi Mandal to increase income. Hold on production and market. Keep the DPM in the district wise marketing and market facility so that the Board does not have problems in market. I am confident that this initiative of Rural Development Department is bringing prosperity on the faces of the villagers,” he said.

Earlier, Special Secretary Co-CEO, JSLPS Paritosh Upadhyay presented the account of the activities of the livelihood mission and progress so far. During the programme, the Rural Development Minister also interacted with the Sakhi Mandal officials, team JSLPS and appealed to the members of the Board to send information to every government scheme.
