Sanidhya, UNICEF jointly launch child rights truck

A child rights truck specially designed for propagating key messages on child nutrition, breastfeeding, mother and child health, handwashing, immunization and education was launched here on Tuesday.

It was launched by Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Avinash Lavniya and Michael Juma, Chief UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh. This is joint effort of UNICEF and its partner Sanidhya.

Speaking at the launch Michael Juma, Chief, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh said that child rights are entitlements for every child and within the framework World Children’s Day, advocating for their awareness and inclusion into policy decisions is certainly critical in giving children a fair chance to address issues impacting them.

BMC Commissioner Avinash Lavniya said that Bhopal Municipal Corporation is committed to work for cleanliness, health and sanitation and for children of Bhopal. With World Children’s Day and World Toilet day, we are happy to be work with UNICEF, #GoBlue and stand for child rights.

Dance performance was done by troupe 9 members of blinders guns dance academy.

The truck has TV and 21 films from Aadha Full, a serial film which have interesting reach and underlying messages of gender, nutrition, immunization, child health, education and maternal health & nutrition. 

The team with the rath has been trained to use the films as they are accompanied by discussions and games with community. The Rath will move in Bhopal urban and rural areas and then go to Jhabua. The duration as of now is for one and half months.

Anil Gulati Communication Specialist, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh, Sumit Pathak of Sanidhya, Sonali Tiwari and Amit members of Young Indian and UNICEF specialist of Health, Nutrition, Communication for Development, Water and Sanitation were present at the launch.
