The much awaited annual fair -- Saras Mahotsav and Khadi Mela will start on December 20, 2018. The two weeks long affair that is considered to be one of the biggest consumer fairs of the State will have stuffs ranging from attires to decorative products to other knick-knacks as per the customers’ choice under one roof.
The fair organised with an aim to popularise indigenous products and to provide a platform to the artisans engaged in different cottage industries will give preference to those stalls having registration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Development Commissioner (Handicraft) DCH card, Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and those organizations registered with Department of Industries.
According to the members of the organising committee the last day for booking the stalls at the fair is November 15. “The first four stalls decked up in front of all the hangers will have to pay Rs 40,000 during the booking. For booking the general stalls, the interested parties will have to give Rs. 20,000 for getting one stall while food stalls will be allocated to the interested persons at Rs 30,000 each. Each person or an organisation will be allotted only two stalls,” said Khadi Board Chairman, Sanjay Seth. The annual fair will conclude on January 6.
