State general secretary of AJSU Party Damodar Mahto breathed his last here on Thursday evening.
He was 48. Mahto was taken to Medanta Hospital in Ranchi around 7 pm, after he complained of trouble in his kidney , but he died during his treatment at Ranchi, family members said .
He is survived by his wife and two sons - Deepak Kumar Mahto and Pradip Kumar Mahto at his Parsatard private residence. His family rushed from Dumari to take the body back at Parsatard village near Dumari.
AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto, Minister Chandra Prakash Chaudhay, MP Ravindra Kumar Panday, Lambodar Mahto, MLAs Dhulu Mahto, Rajkishor Mahto, Ex-minister Lal Chand Mahto, Zila Parishad president Tikait Mahto, Ex-district president Santosh Mahto and others visited his house at Parsatard village in Dumari and paid their last respects to the departed leader.
“I am shocked and pained at the sudden and untimely demise of Damodar Mahto.
A colleague in Dumari constituency and the party for many years, his passing away at such young age is tragic," said Chandra Prakash Chaudhay.
“The sudden demise of senior leader Damodar Mahto ji, is a massive blow to the AJSU family. Damodar ji helped build the AJSSU party in Dumari and was greatly respected and admired by all.
My condolences are there to his family in the time of grief. May his soul rest in peace," Tikait Mahto said.
In his condolence message, former energy minister Lal Chand Mahto said, "I am shocked and saddened to learn about the sudden and untimely demise of Damodar Mahto.My deepest condolences to all members of his family. I pray God for the departed soul."
