Taking a dig at BJP’s promise of ‘Achhe Din’, Congress star campaigner and Minister in Punjab Government, Navjot Singh Sidhu asked voters to support Congress candidates in assembly polls in Chhattisgarh. He added that BJP believed in false promises.
He claimed that Congress would form the next government in the mineral-rich state. Sidhu was addressing a public meeting at Korba while campaigning for Congress’ sitting candidate Jaisingh Agrawal.
Lashing out at BJP-led Central government and Raman Singh government in Chhattisgarh, Sidhu appealed the voters to vote in favour of Congress considering the larger interests of the state in mind.
He also mocked BJP for its promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in bank account of every citizen by bringing back black money being stashed in foreign countries.
“All the promises of the BJP proved ‘hollow’, whether it is generating employment or about cleaning the sacred river The Ganga”, he said.
He also charged BJP government with working against poor, and said rather than waiving off the loans of poor farmers the central government waived off the loans of capitalists and industrialists.
