Training of trainers concludes at DARC

Saturday, 17 November 2018 | PNS | Dehradun

The Drone Application Research Center (DARC), a joint venture between ITDA and NTRO, conducted a capsule programme on training the trainers which concluded on Friday.

This training was attended by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and flying school representatives from across India. The trainer and participants exchanged suggestions, experiences and comments on the course curriculum content.

Officials said that the drone industry is growing considerably. Drones have made their role prominent in search and rescue operations, mapping and survey, civil applications such as policing, fire fighting, climate forecasting and photography. With the ability to reach inaccessible places which are either dangerous or costly to reach otherwise, drones have enabled humans to do much more than earlier thought to be possible. The popularity and demand for drones is rising speedily along with the need for specialised drone application development.

DARC’s vision is to be a place where experts in drone technology and industrial applications of drones can share their knowledge and skills with the government departments and others. Its sole objective is to help government officials, field officers, individuals and organisations understand the revolutionary benefits of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology and gain the skills to implement UAV technology safely and effectively in their workplaces and wider enterprises through a robust training and certification process.

DARC will render help/assist the users to make informed decisions about UAV challenges and thus lead to the cost effective management of drone integration and adoption along with the management of related business risks.
