CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said on Sunday that his party would support the winnable candidates of secular parties in Chhattisgarh assembly polls.
Speaking at the Meet the Press function here, the veteran leader said that his party has a three-point agenda in this election. The first is to oust the ruling BJP, Second priority will be to strengthen the leftist movement and third to form a secular alternative government in the state.
He informed that his party is contesting the polls in just three of the total 90 seats in Chhattisgarh that goes to polls in two phases on November 12 and 20.
The CPI(M) has fielded candidates in Katghora, Lundra and Bhatgaon seats while in the remaining 87 assembly segments the party is extending support to winnable candidates of non-BJP parties.
