A 24 year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death after a scuffle over a petty issue on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday in Jahangirpuri area of national Capital.
The deceased has been identified as Chandan, a resident of Jahangirpuri. According to Aslam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), they had received information at about 12:05 AM on Saturday from BJRM Hospital in the area about a person who had been brought dead after being stabbed.
"A team rushed to the hospital where the deceased was identified as Chandan. During our investigation, the matter came to light that there was a quarrel between Chandan and another person, identified as Laxman, over a petty issue following which Laxman stabbed Chandan on his shoulder with a knife and fled the spot," said the DCP.
"Chandan's friends were also there who rushed him to hospital. The body was sent for autopsy at BJRM Hospital. We have registered a case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code at Jahangir Puri police station. Further investigation is on. Efforts are being made to nab the accused," the DCP added.
