‘Role in Zero was a challenge’

Actress Anushka Sharma says she worked with two professional trainers to immerse herself into her role as Aafia, a scientist with cerebral palsy, in Aanand L. Rai's Zero.

“I understood the challenge that I was going to face as an actor while playing this role. That is what excited me towards the role,” she said.

“I wanted to do it the right way and represent this correctly. Aanand sir and Himanshu Sharma had already researched a lot with doctors (about this condition) when they came to me with the film and had sketched out my character accordingly,” she added.

‘I'm on my way back to where my heart is. It's a feeling I can't describe. It's the joy to see my family and friends again, the excitement to do what I love and mainly the gratitude for the journey I've had up until this moment. The fight is not yet over but I'm happy.’

Actress Genelia Deshmukh, who is coming back on the big screen after four years with a cameo in her actor-husband Riteish Deshmukh's forthcoming Marathi film Mauli, says she did not realise how long she has been away from being in front of the camera.

Talking about her comeback on the big screen and working with Riteish after a long gap, Genelia wrote on social media, “My God it's been four years since I was last on screen... Did not even realise it. Thank you Riteish for ‘Dhuvun tak' and for making sure I did it...had such a blast.”

Tessa’s special bond with Jordan

Actress Tessa Thompson says she is glad to share a special bond with Michael Jordan.

Tessa has worked with Michael in Creed II.

“Michael and I love playing these characters and really had a rapport with each other the first time around. Since then, we've stayed in touch and maintained a friendship and seen each other through different milestones,” Tessa said.

“It doesn't feel like time has passed. It sort of feels like we're growing up together. And a lot has happened to Mike and to me in the years since we made Creed. He and I are also in this new space of navigating public personas and personal lives, finding that balance. It's interesting for that to also be reflected in our film,” she added.
