Watch Out

Old World Theatre Festival brings together 15 plays over a span of nine days. A pan-Indian constellation of original scripts from Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Kerala are scheduled to come together to create riveting experience. It mirrors the continuities in the Indian theatre from the earliest to the most contemporary. When: October 20 to 28 Where: India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road.

Jazz and live music, The Piano Man Jazz club brings the Brazilian Jazz Project, where the trio: Claudio Oliveira on drums, Thiago Duarte on Bass and Leo Vraulid on piano, will be performing. WHEN: October 13 time: 9 pm to 11.55 pm Entry: Rs 500 WHERE: B 6-7/22 Safdarjung Enclave Market, opposite Deer Park.

In the solo show presented by Bangalore-based Gallery Dravidam, Kerala-born artist, Suresh Pushpangthan’s pictorial space comes alive as Following Aranyani – Goddess of the Forest. The exhibition is a series of paintings on nature that portrays the elusive spirit of the Goddess Aranyani who is described in the Rig Vedas as wandering fearlessly through remote jungle glades. Jiyo! Live It! an exhibit-cum-outreach program, presented by The Asian Heritage Foundation headed by Shri Rajeev Sethi, is a cultural extravaganza featuring a range of design showcase, storytelling sessions, foodways F&B festival, chill zones, performing arts and jiyo dialogues, etc. When: Till October 20  time: 12 noon to 9 pm Where: The Asian Heritage Foundation, C-52, South Extn II.

Kalpataru Arts is organising Saksham and Manthan Festival, a festival that will churn the ocean of classical music and dance along with a series of workshop and seminar to enrich the knowledge and substance of art practitioners today. The two-day festival will feature the performance by Sanchita Roy (Odissi), Sangita Chatterjee (Kathak), Purvadhanashree (Vilasini Natyam), and Parshwanath Upadhye (Bharatnatyam). time: 4 pm onwards when: October 1 to 12 where: Triveni Kala Sangam, Near Mandi House metro station.
