13 start-ups showcase ideas

The Entrepreneur First (EF) celebrated the inaugural India Investor Day. The EF’s first-ever Indian cohort had 47 talented individuals who founded eight companies.

Recently, at the India Investor Day, 13 start-ups from India, Singapore and Hongkong showcased their ideas and companies to 150 investors. India’s first cohort under its $30 million India specific entrepreneur nurturing program had six startups presenting.

Matt Clifford, co-founder, and CEO, Entrepreneur First, said: “Showcasing these high potential startups from our first India cohort is a privilege. It demonstrates the scalability and global impact of the EF programme. We look forward to working with every company showcased, and more, to create a new generation of deep tech giants.”

Seminar on Study in Spain

Embassy of Spain organised a seminar on Study in Spain at the headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi. The aim was to inform about the opportunities offered to Indian students in Spain and show the institutional support that students will receive from Spanish authorities. Around 35 principals across India were present.

Campus Spain and the Embassy of Spain are encouraging students to study in Spain and highlighting the importance of the Spanish Language. Students were given a brief about the police such as students do not need additional exam (GMAT, SAT, TOEFL or IELTS) for International students to be admitted to a university in Spain, most attractive and perspective destinations for overseas studies.

Gonzalo Martinez, Director of Campus Spain said: “Some of the most prestigious universities in Europe are based in Spain, and the tuition fees in those universities are highly subsidised by the Government. Spain is also one of the safest and enjoyable countries in the world.”

With the aim to recognise and reward academic excellence and outstanding innovation capabilities in students studying in the fields of science, engineering & technology, Avery Dennison Foundation on September 3, 2019 announced 10 winners under its Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) Scholarship Scheme. In its 2019 edition of InvEnt, Avery Dennison felicitated 10 scholars from premier institutes in an award ceremony organised in Gurgaon.

Each year, Avery Dennison Foundation honours 10 Indian students to encourage and support leadership & innovation development amongst the students. This year, 10 winners belonging to five premier institutes received the scholarship of US$ 1300 each and an opportunity to participate in a special workshop on invention & innovation conducted by the Avery Dennison Foundation.

SPORTS MGT EDUCATION

The Global Institute of Sports Business (GISB) has announced a partnership with The University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Mark H McCormack Department of Sport Management. The partnership provides GISB students with exposure to top-tier sport management coursework taught by full-time professors from the world’s #1 ranked Sport Management Master’s Programme.

The GISB students will be challenged and trained by UMass faculty in core sport management subject areas, while securing a PG Sport Management degree and studying in India, one of the fastest growing sports markets.
